Ethical Manifesto
Doing business the right way is – and always has been – part of our core ethos. Making a difference is about more than bland social media pronouncements on one day each year. Our ethical manifesto shows how we pledge to act as a business. Now and always.
Climate positive, carbon negative
We’re proud of our climate positive workforce, and that our redthread forest continues to thrive.
We commit to offsetting the lifetime carbon emissions for all our employees. And to offset carbon emissions for our freelance team too.
Reducing carbon footprints – and reducing consumption – remains critical. So we commit to questioning everything. Is that flight needed? What’s our ethical pension option? Is our website green enough?
The time for change is now, and we’re all responsible for ripping up the status quo and finding a new path to a sustainable future.
Giving back
Giving back is part of our core values. We’ll donate at least 1% of our sales – and up to 10% of our profits – to good causes. Forever.
We commit to always giving our employees paid time off to volunteer. To matching fundraising efforts. To thinking critically about how we can put our 1% each year to create an impact.
We also commit to donating our time and expertise to causes that are important to us through our pro bono scheme.
Nurturing DE&I
We commit to creating an environment where people feel safe to bring all the elements of who they are to work.
To support our goals of being a kind, respectful, and diverse business, we all commit to building a supportive working environment where nobody is penalised for working flexibly or having commitments outside of work.
We commit to fair and equal pay – based on merit, not gender or background. To family friendly policies developed to support the world as we want to see it.
And we commit to staying curious – and learning more – about our everyday biases to make our team an open and inclusive community.
Call for pro bono projects
Our pro bono scheme offers charities and non-profit organisations our healthcare and writing expertise free of charge. Projects can include publications, healthcare access strategy support, and other written communications. We excel where you need to tell a clear story, simply and concisely.
