We’re looking for a senior market access / medical writer who can help develop extraordinary written communications for our global pharma clients, from value propositions and global value documents to HTA submissions and local market access deliverables.

Things you might be working on day-to-day include:

  • Global value dossiers
  • Payer value propositions and objection handlers
  • HTA submissions (NICE, SMC, NCPE, plus AMCP dossiers)
  • Access landscape analyses
  • Evidence and access strategy planning workshops
  • Scientific advice projects (e.g. NICE, joint advice, parallel advice)

Where we excel is in blending brilliant writing with our knowledge of market access. If this sounds like you, or something you’d like to do in the future, then this role could be for you.

You’ll typically split your time as: content development (40%), reviewing and mentoring (30%), project management (10%), personal development (10%), admin (10%). Key responsibilities include:
  • Writing clear, grammatically correct, technical and creative medical/scientific text for a variety of audiences (e.g. payers, healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical sales teams and patients)
  • Ensuring the accuracy of all information, data and referencing for the documents produced, delegating to colleagues where appropriate
  • Being proactive in tracking projects including developing timelines and keeping projects on track by providing clear, regular information to the Project Strategic Lead
  • Coordinate successful project delivery with minimal supervision i.e. written work requires minimal revision by Managing Director before being client ready
  • Training and mentoring junior writers to support their development
  • Ensuring projects remain within specification and liaising with Project Strategic Lead and/or client to negotiate changes where necessary
  • Demonstrating a commitment to living the redthread values of trust and collaboration
  • Learning and understanding new therapy areas quickly and comprehensively, inspiring confidence with the client
  • Contributing ideas for business proposals and new projects

We’re essentially looking for someone who’s comfortable with highly scientific writing, and can tell a great story. Ideally you’d have around 2–5 years’ experience – any less, and we’d be throwing you in at a deep end that might feel a little too deep.

You’ll be involved in a range of activities across the business, from more typical writing activities, through writing blog posts, to learning how to critique a global market access strategy.

We’d prefer you to have a background in life-sciences, and existing knowledge of market access and value communications would be nice. This can all be taught, however, so don’t worry too much if you’re not familiar with either. Attitude and aptitude to adapting your writing are more important.

As with all of our roles, you’ll receive lots of hands-on mentoring, and will have the opportunity to take relevant training courses. There’s also plenty of room for progression and promotion, if you’re proactive, play nicely in a team, and are keen to learn.

£40-60k, though we’re flexible depending on your experience. Our benefits include at least 25 days’ holiday plus your birthday off (increasing each year), Vitality private medical insurance, and industry-leading family friendly policies, including 8 weeks at full pay for the birth or adoption of a child, irrespective of gender (yours, not the baby’s!).

Home based. And while working from home has its perks, it can also be lonely, which is why we offer lots of opportunities to connect with the rest of the team, both virtually and in person. Whether or not you’re wearing your pyjama bottoms on a Teams call is entirely your business. And you must have the legal right to work in the UK, irrespective of location.

Full time ideally. But we measure commitment by how committed you are, not by the hours you work, when and where you work can be flexible, to suit your lifestyle and situation (within reason).
